Shahid Iqbal Khan, in partnership with Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, is a recipient of the Jerwood Royal Court Commissioning Scheme 2026.
Previous awards include the 2023 Peter Shaffer Commission from the National Theatre andThe Octagon, Bolton. He was also one of the writers on the Genesis Almeida New Playwrights, Big Plays Programme for 2023-2025.
His play, 10 Nights, was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2022 for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre.
He writes regularly for radio. His 2-part series adaptation of The Last of the Mohicans aired on BBC Radio 4 in January 2026. His first full-length drama for BBC Radio 4, Love Across The Ages, premiered in September 2022. BBC Writersroom added the text of this play to their script library.
