Kate Andrews

Kate Andrews is a theatre director with bases in London, Liverpool and Stratford-on-Avon. As Artistic Director of Worlds Elsewhere, she creates Shakespeare for the Many, performed under natural light by a company of working-class artists, committed to relaxed performances, unconventional venues & affordable tickets and aiming to comfort the disturbed & disturb the comfortable. Kate has also worked as Associate Director and Assistant Director on a number of theatre productions; and has received Arts Council of England funding for Developing Creative Practice.

Kate trained at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, gaining a BA (First Class Hons) in Contemporary Performance Practice. Additional training includes: Directing Theatre for the Round, at the Stephen Joseph Theatre; Unlocking Shakespeare's Characters, with Jonathan Slinger; and RSC Shakespeare Gym, with Patsy Rodenburg

As an Access Consultant, Kate contributes her creativity & lived experience towards helping theatre companies and venues achieve the gold-standard in Disabled & Neurodivergent audience and performer accessibility. She is currently working towards Level 1 British Sign Language to ensure her offerings are Deaf aware.
