Huw Brentnall is an award-winning writer, actor and director, trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the Met Film School. His drama, About a Dog, commissioned for BBC Radio 4 and broadcast in October 2022, was nominated for the Tinniswood Award for Best Original Drama at the 2024 BBC Audio Awards and is available to listen to here.
Huw has collaborated with the Old Red Lion, INK Writers’ Festival, and the BBC.
Huw is currently collaborating on a number of writing projects. He is working alongside FELIX UFF on an original television comedy-drama, Lecoq which is being developed in partnership with Hat Trick Productions. This is one of many television projects which continue to be developed by Brentnall and Uff. Separately, Huw is developing a romantic comedy-drama television series, Gooseberry.
Huw is currently a member of the Criterion Theatre New Writing group. Huw is also collaborating with actor and musician Grace Haydn on their new play, Gwen and Arddwr. The R&D process has been supported by the Young Vic and BOLD Elephant.
