Two Bit Classics - Pride and Prejudice - Autumn 2013 Tour
Directed by Abigail Anderson
A new adaptation by Joannah Tincey. Directed by Abigail Anderson. 2013 celebrated
the 200th anniversary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice. This newly commissioned adaptation takes a fresh approach to one of the nations most cherished novels. Two actors boldly shape Austen's vibrant and well-loved characters into a genuinely theatrical and inventive production which sparkles with Austen's wit and style. Pride and Prejudice tells the story of the five Bennett sisters all on the hunt for love and financial security. Hearts are set a-fluttering with the arrival of various eligible bachelors, but how do you catch the eye of Mr Right? And how can you even tell which one he is? At the centre of this comic whirl are Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy, two independent spirits who get off on the wrong foot but gradually learn from each other the foundations of true love and understanding. Two Bit Classics & Theatre Royal Bury St. Edmunds present a fresh, innovative retelling of this well-loved classic for Autumn 2013. |
