As a director, Tim’s productions have been seen in the West End, all over the UK and internationally. In New York, he directed Artist Descending A Staircase at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway and When She Danced at the Playwrights’ Horizons, Off-Broadway. In the Netherlands his productions include The Homecoming, in Japan The Merchant of Venice and Volpone, and his work has been seen at various venues in Sweden, including the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stadsteatern and Riksteatern (California Suite, The Importance of Being Earnest, Seasons Greetings and Communicating Doors). Tim’s recent production of We Will Rock You is currently touring major venues in Italy.
Tim has written plays for the National Theatre Studio, the Royal Court, RADA and Hampstead Theatre. All four of his Jane Austen adaptations have been produced in the UK, multiple times, and Northanger Abbey was revived in Chicago (2013). Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kevin Wallace co-produced Tim’s first play EuroVision at the Vaudeville Theatre in 1994 after its success at the Drill Hall. It was also at the Drill Hall that The Death of Gogol and the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest was first seen. The Second World was commissioned and produced by LAMDA (2011) and Bubi Doll (The Education of Adolf H) by E15 at the Tristan Bates Theatre (2009). |
