LUCY DAVIDSON

Lucy is a Scottish playwright based in London. She is a graduate of Edinburgh University (2019) where she was the recipient of both the English Literature Play Award (2019) and the David Masson Scholarship (2018-19), and ran new-writing theatre company Candlewasters for two years. She is a graduate of RADA's Text and Performance MA with Distinction (2020) and a member of the National Youth Theatre.
Her play Jockstrap was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Playwriting in 2021, shortlisted for BOLD Theatre's Playwrights Development Scheme in 2021 and recently underwent an R&D funded by ACE National in 2022. The play was also shortlisted for the Oxford Playwright Playmakers Scheme and Soho Writers' Lab in 2021. Her play Skin in the Game was produced by Theatre 503 in 2022 as part of their Rapid Write Response initiative. Her plays Evergreen and Rent were produced in 2021 by Very Rascals Theatre Company and Candlewasters Theatre Company respectively, while her first film Ralph Fiennes is in post-production with Lambeth Walk Films. She is a member of Broken Silence Theatre's Playwrights Hive and is a participant in Framework Theatre's Theatre Writers Pilot Scheme. She was previously a member of Traverse Young Writers in Edinburgh. She is currently a writer for the production company and online history channel History Hit. |
