About LJ
Having first received an honours degree in Contemporary Theatre and Performance from Manchester Metropolitan University, L J Parkinson graduated from the Brunel School of Arts with a masters in Contemporary Performance Making in 2012.
Recent theatre credits include Rich Whiteman in Deathdrop (Garrick Theatre), and Moll Frith in Notes To The Forgotten She-Wolves (Shakespeare's Globe). LJ was also seen in Lethal White (BBC/Cinemax) and a commercial for Lidl.
LJ performed as LoUis CYfer and won Drag Idol UK in 2014. Their work as a drag king led to work with theatre company Milk Presents and acclaimed shows such as Joan and Bullish.
Parkinson recently toured the UK as Fiona/Adrian in Rotterdam by Jon Brittain, earning great reviews: “LJ Parkinson is incredible as Fiona/Adrian, managing to move seamlessly from wittily acerbic to self-deluded to genuinely tragic all in one scene, and to elicit feelings of huge sympathy from the audience” (North West End).
