DERMOT got the taste for making theatre in his youth and has worked extensively in the theatre onstage, backstage and front of house.
His move into producing was a natural progression for one who remains curious and excited by theatre. He is fortunate to be able to draw on a broad and eclectic range of experiences.
Dermot has acquired extensive experience of theatre production including marketing; ticketing and box office; general management, company management and event management - all in London.
In 2011 he embarked upon a course of study, enrolling on Birkbeck College's Creative Producing for Theatre and Live Performance MA, he achieved a pass with distinction. As part of his studies he fulfilled a professional secondment with Jeremy Goldstein, and he was subsequently engaged by Jeremy as Assistant Producer/Associate Director for two further runs of Penny Arcade: B!D!F!W!
He has gone onto develop his practice through roles with Producers and Theatre Companies, and by developing his own projects.
Amongst his work last year he was Producer for Inky Cloak’s – Cover Her Face ; Associate Producer for Light Up The House’s – Futebol ; The Alternative World Cup and Producer for there were two brothers, a piece that he originated and nurtured over two years with a new writer/performer.
Currently he is working towards a production of a new play - Garbo Talks in central London for Spring 2016, a fringe showing of new writing from Manchester and two original commissions.
